As the computer goes to sleep, it will save the contents of the RAM (Random Access Memory) to the computer’s hard disk. When you remove the apple macbook pro battery, the sleep light will go out and the computer will power off.

After you’ve inserted the new apple laptop battery, open the lid and press the power button. The computer will start up and, using safe sleep, your system will resume where it left off when you put it to sleep.
